Rohit Jugraj to turn Srinivasa Ramanujan’s life into film

Historical leaders, mythological characters… the filmmakers have portrayed them all on screens before. Now here’s a director who wants to reflect the life of the genius mathematician of India.
Filmmaker Rohit Jugraj is reported to be planning to make a biopic on Srinivasa Ramanujan. Sources say that the project will be based on Robert Kanigel’s book The Man Who Knew Infinity: A Life Of The Genius Ramanujan. Fascinated over the noted mathematician, Rohit said to have been doing research on the project for nearly two years. The director is pretty impressed with the simplicity of Ramanujan and plans to include several of the genius’s never-said experiences in the film.
However, it seems Rohit is having problem in acquiring the rights of the book, from its publishers Picador. But things are getting delayed. On this Rohit said that if the book doesn’t come to him, he will next proceed to piece together Ramanujan’s life story based on the mathematical maestro’s family’s revelations.
