Genelia to step into the screens of God’s own country


Besides Bollywood, the bubbly beauty Genelia D'Souza has tasted the film industry of Tamil, Telugu and Kannada – thus earning all-round recognition compared to other beauties. And now the gal is going to have a taste of Mollywood.
The actress is said to have been offered a film by ace director Santhosh Sivan. Titled ‘Urumi’, the period film will be a bilingual, to be made in Malayalam and Tamil. Here, Genelia will play the role of a Portuguese princess and will be featured opposite south star Prithviraj.
According to Sivan, the movie will be set in the 15th century and the story is about a boy who wanted to kill Vasco Da Gama. Explaining the fact behind the title ‘Urumi’, the filmmaker said that Urumi is the eight-feet-long flexible sword that is used in Kalari fights.
Hmmm, from a spirited youngster of ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa’ to a princess, Genelia is surely making her career graph colourful…
