After creating a stir with the launch invitations, Vasanthabalan went ahead with the pooja of 'Aravaan', his forthcoming film, in Chennai Friday, with big guns of Kollywood including his mentor Shankar attending the event.
Signifying the launch of the film, produced by T Siva of Amma Creations, Shankar presented a clapboard to Vasnathabalan, in the presence of dignitaries like Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan, actor Sivakumar, director S A Chandrasekaran, cartoonist Madhan and 'Editor' Mohan.
Others who had attended the function include protagonist of the film Aadhi, heroines Dhanshika and Archana Kavi, singer Karthik who is taking the avatar of a music composer with 'Aravaan', producer T Siva, director Venkat Prabhu and actors Premji and Sona.
Explaining what the movie is about, a clipping was screened in which Tamil writers and scholars spoke in praise of the film set in the 18th century. "Aravaan means an all-powerful person, who possesses 32 features in him. He is capable of doing anything," they said.
