Many of us know that Ganesh Venkatraman, the tough cop of 'Unnaipol Oruvan', is playing an important role in the trilingual 'Kandahaar', which has Amitabh Bachchan and Mohanlal in lead roles.
It has now come to light that the actor is playing a commando in the film directed by Major Ravi and his character name is Sooryanath Sharma. "He is extremely happy to act with Big B and Mohanlal," sources say.
"Though he has played a policeman's role in 'Unnaipol Oruvan' earlier, he took immense training to fit himself to the character is doing in 'Kandahaar'. Because he considers this as an opportunity of a life-time," they maintain.
"It was because of Mohanlal he bagged the role," sources say and add: "The Malayalam superstar, who was thoroughly impressed by Ganesh's performance in 'Unnaipol Oruvan', has recommended him for 'Kandahaar', in which he too is playing a commando whose name is Mahadevan."
