Theatre owners decide against Vijay again

It was decided at a meeting by Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association in Chennai on Tuesday not to extend cooperation to films starring Vijay, as the actor "failed to compensate the losses" faced by those running cinema halls.

According to theatre owners, they suffered huge losses by screening Vijay's recent films like 'Azhagia Tamil Magan', 'Kuruvi', 'Villu', 'Vettaikaran' and 'Sura', as they paid a heavy price thanks to the actor's star value.

"But the movies failed to generate good revenues at the box office and forced us to face huge losses. Following this, we requested the actor to partly compensate the money we lost and share our burden," they said.

"Since we are yet to get a positive reply from him, we have decided not to extend cooperation to the forthcoming films of Vijay." they said. Meanwhile, a resolution passed at the meeting congratulated Rama Narayanan for being elected as the Tamil Film Producers Council president for third time.

Meanwhile, a couple of stills from the actor's forthcoming film 'Velayudham' were released to the media today. Directed by 'Jayam' Raja, the film will be produced by Aascar Ravichandran.
